And while there is not a solid answer to that question, one thing we can be sure of is that they'll end up ahead of where they currently are. With new models, new options and less issues. Building a future for us as dealers as well as this country. After all, General Motors is a company that parts of this nation were created on. So we will continue with our support in a great company and a great future.

Take the new Chevrolet Cruze, a model that will be showing up in Chevrolet Showrooms for the 2011 model year. (really not that far away)... The Cruze is being toted as a "world car". Reason being, the suspension was designed in Europe, the interior and exterior design in Asia and more. Making the result, a "world car" that will be sold all over the globe with minimal variations.

This beautiful new Cruze promises more refinement over the current Cobalt, more interior space and most importantly, even better fuel economy due to it's 1.4L 4 Cyl. Turbocharged engine and a 6 speed automatic or manual trasmission. Over all it's a vehicle that will grab the attention of many.

This is just one of the many great steps that General Motors is taking to promise a brighter future for the company, it's dealers and this nation.

The New GM

We're Not Going Anywhere...

For Immediate Release

Tuesday, June 2, 2009, without any fanfare or media attention, General Motors notified, by FedEx delivery, all 6,000 dealers across the country providing them with personalized instructions as to the status of their franchises going forward. Two weeks ago, GM notified 1,100 dealers that their agreements would not be renewed. Today, the phase-out options were spelled out for these 1,100 plus an additional 500 dealers across the country.

With each letter was attached either a “Participation Agreement”, a “Wind-down Agreement”, or in some cases- both. A “Participation Agreement” provided a dealer operator with the terms and conditions that would allow their franchises to be assumed by the new GM. A “Wind-Down Agreement” informed the dealers that their location was not viable beyond the expiration of the dealer agreement as of October 31, 2009. These dealer agreements will be assumed by the new GM but will not be renewed. The wind-down provided some assistance to the dealer to aid them in winding down their operations over the next 16 months, allowing them to sell down vehicle inventory and parts over time. Terms of either agreement are non-negotiable and are not subject to any appeal process. Just like that- your future as a GM dealer has been determined by a letter!

Northwest Hills Dealerships in Torrington is pleased to announce that GM informed the dealership that “it has been identified by GM as one of its key dealers for the Chevrolet, Buick, and GMC Truck brands.” As a result, the dealer franchise agreements will be assigned to the New GM and the dealership will continue to operate in Torrington representing these great brands.

Regrettably, Northwest Hills was not as fortunate in retaining the Cadillac brand and as a result, will no longer be able to sell Cadillac’s beyond October 31, 2010. “While we were very excited that GM recognized the importance of Chevrolet, Buick and GMC in Torrington, we were very disappointed to learn that it decided to eliminate the Cadillac division from Litchfield County as it has had such a proud history in the area” said Kevin Sullivan, General Manager of Northwest Hills, “part of GM’s restructuring includes creating a limited Cadillac dealer network, comparable in quantity and locale to that of Lexus, Mercedes, or Infiniti- and to create larger volume stores. One of the many problems with that decision, as I see it, is that Litchfield County residents will then be required to travel a substantial distance to purchase a Cadillac.” Northwest Hills intends to sell Cadillac’s through October 31, 2010 and will continue to service them beyond then.

GM had previously announced the gradual elimination of the Pontiac brand, and therefore, Northwest Hills will wind-down its Pontiac sales arm by the end of October 31, 2010 as well. The warranties of all GM vehicles, including Pontiac, will continue to be honored by GM, and performed by Northwest Hills Dealerships.

“We are thrilled to be able to continue to represent GM with Chevy Buick and GMC in Torrington. My family has had a long history with GM going back to 1954, when my grandfather, John Kenney, became the dealer at O’Neill’s Chevrolet Buick in Avon, and my father, Larry Sullivan, a GM dealer since 1986” said Kevin Sullivan. “The Sullivan family is looking forward to the new GM- leaner, greener, and stronger than ever!”

About Northwest Hills Dealerships: owned an operated by the Sullivan family since 1998, they operate Northwest Hills Chevrolet Pontiac and Northwest Hills Chrysler Jeep on 2033-2065 East Main Street in Torrington and Northwest Hills Cadillac Buick GMC, downtown at 790 Main Street in Torrington. It was reported that these rejected stores would cease operations in mid-June.

Sullivan went on to say “the manufacturer (Chrysler LLC) has not been managed well over the last few years, and this economic downturn has created a very difficult environment to sell cars. We still have some great quality products to offer, fantastic incentives to pass on to our customers, and deep discounts that really make our vehicles stand out! We have seen the credit markets loosen up considerably, rates are better than ever….it is a great time to buy a new Chrysler or Jeep!”
“We look forward to getting beyond the restructuring period, and restoring customer confidence. With the probable alliance with Fiat, there will be an incredible infusion of new technology and products we have yet to see in this country. We very much look forward to and are excited about that! We are very excited to be moving forward with the New Chrysler.”

About Northwest Hills Chrysler Jeep, LLC: located at 2033 East Main Street, Torrington, CT 06790; owned and operated by the Sullivan Family since 1998. In addition to NWH Chrysler Jeep, Sullivan’s also operate Northwest Hills Chevrolet Pontiac and Northwest Hills Cadillac Buick GMC, all located in Torrington. And that's no where. Todays great news comes from plants not being closed as scheduled.

The General Motors Arlington Plant was scheduled to be shut down for a short time beginning on May 11th. HOWEVER, due to NEW orders GM is keeping the plant open, at the current moment, for an extra week. Meaning that at this time the plant will only be shot down from May 19th - July 13th. Some of which is normal for GM as they restructure plants for the new model year vehicles. And you never know, if things continue on this track the closing time could be pushed off even further.

All in all though, it just goes to show that the company is heading in the right direction and as a GM Dealer we too are heading in the right direction and will be here for you now and years into the future.

As for the proof being in the pudding, if the above wasn't what you were looking for and you truly were looking for pudding, well. Because things are looking up. Things are turning around. Sure, GM is in a major restructure. But they're still here and NOT going anywhere. Chrysler and Jeep, going through Chapter 11 and is also in a huge restructure. But with Fiat by Chryslers side and the entire country behind GM and Chrysler alike, they are NOT going anywhere. And neither is Northwest Hills. We're here. And we're here to stay. Service, body shop, new and used vehicles. We're here!!!

Look into the future. We have new models coming from the likes of Chevrolet, Cadillac and more. Not to mention the new vehicles Chrysler will surely be working on with Fiat. Cadillac with the New SRX, Buick with the New Lacrosse. How about the New Camaro. Does all of that good news sound like something that would be coming from a company shutting its doors? I think not!

So stand with us, support the economy and know that you're not going to be left standing in the cold, the rain, the heat or anything else. OMG! Seriously. Look at some of this weather we've been having. Spring is here!!! The sun is shining, flowers blooming, birds chirping. And of course Mothers day!!!

What are you planning? How about cooking all the mothers in your life a nice brunch? Not taking them out, stay in, make a home cooked meal and serve them. Need some ideas? How about some fresh baked muffins (don't worry, we won't tell if they came from a box), maybe some fresh coffee cake, waffles, pancakes, eggs, fresh squeezed orange juice? Fruit Salad!!! Don't forget the coffee, the cards and even more importantly, some flowers!!! I would think a morning like that would just be so great for them all!!!!

Then of course if you really want to support the economy, there could be a new bracelet? Jewels? What about a new car? ;o)

Either way, make it a special day and be close to those mothers around you. And know that even for those mothers that just can't be there any longer, they're still right there by your side.

Bailout Schmailout- We're Selling Cars!

You can't turn on the radio or TV without hearing more doom & gloom about the financial markets, unemployment, and the auto industry woes- and if we are ever going to get out of this mess, we are definitely going to have to start thinking positively!

With those positive thoughts in mind, I wanted you to know, that Northwest Hills has stepped up to the challenge issued by our manufacturer- GM & Chrysler Corporation to take on some extra inventory. From the market dictating some of their moves, it has not stopped the New 2009 Pontiac Vibe, or Chevrolet Traverse from rolling onto and off of our property, to certain lease programs ending while financing programs get better. Things have again, been anything but a flat line.

However, we here at Northwest Hills will continue to embrace the change. We have a great new Chrysler & Jeep website which will be a great thing to step yet again, above other Hartford and Litchfield Chrysler Jeep Dealers. That site can be seen by visiting www.northwesthillschrysler.com. And to welcome in that site, we have some service specials, parts specials and even new and used car specials...

However that won't be the end of our online presence. In the near future we will all see a new WWW.NWHCARS.COM. Our all new, 7 franchises in one, Hartford Litchfield Dealer website!!! So while you may hear of other dealerships going under, and some not so great news on the street, we here at Northwest Hills will continue in our stress free enjoyable ways, we will continue to work with our low price guarantee and more importantly, we will continue to do everything possible to make this your best purchasing experience ever!!!

February is here... Especially on days like this when it's sleeting, raining and icing out. Makes you love New England doesn't it?

Below is a link to just some of the current rebates and incentives. We eat and drink too much and gain too much weight over the holidays. Then we wake up on January 1st and bemoan all the weight we now have to lose. I know it happened to me last year and I can't say as if I lost it yet??? Did you know that weight watchers claims that the average american gains 7-10 pounds between Thanksgiving and the New Year???

It doesn't have to be that way but with all the temptations it can get tough. From the holiday cookies around every corner, to the cakes to the chocolates. Not to mention the overflowing hors d’oeuvres tables at holiday parties and family dinners full of all sorts of tasty treats. And while the rest of the year we may be able to control our fitness and weight, our discipline typically falls apart in the holiday time.

So we can all make plans now to hold back the urges and fitness / weight changes and here's how.

CHOOSE WELL. You don't have to eat everything at the table. Choose the ones you like the best and pass on the rest. If you like the stuffing more than the potatoes or pumpkin bread, pass on the potatoes and bread. And if you simply must have everything on the table, take smaller portions and eat a bit slower. Or if you're at a buffett, scope out all the options before grabbing a plate so that you don't fill your plate up and then see something you really want!

And if a table full of hors d’oeuvres calls your name at a family / work party, choose the low calorie options like shrimp or veggies, grab one or two and then move away from the plate so you're not tempted to eat more.

Exercise. Make time to maintain your normal exercise routine. Set some realistic goals and stick with them. This will not only help you maintain your weight but will also help reduce the stress that accompanies the holidays. It will get those endorphins going so you can really enjoy the festivities. This is a gift you can give to yourself. Don’t let it get lost in the shuffle.

Eat regularly. Don’t starve yourself before attending a big party or dinner. If you do, you’ll want to eat and drink everything in sight once you get there. Instead, eat small healthy meals throughout the day. Foods high in protein (such as fish, meat and dairy products) and fiber (such as fruits and vegetables) take longer to digest so they keep you feeling full longer. Try eating something healthy like low-fat yogurt or popcorn before you leave for the party. If you do overindulge, forgive yourself quickly and resume your healthy diet the next day.

Drink moderately. This is important. After even one glass of wine or beer, many of our good intentions fly out the window so we tend to eat and drink more. Try adding ice to your glass of white wine. It not only dilutes the calories, it also keeps the wine nicely chilled. Or add seltzer to your red wine to create a festive spritzer. If you don’t want to spoil the taste of a really good vintage by diluting it, savor that one then switch to seltzer or a diet soda.

Be assertive. You don’t have to say yes to everything that everyone offers you. An increasing number of us are becoming aware of the importance of staying fit. If you’re already full or if something just looks like it has more calories than you can handle, tell your host or hostess that it looks wonderful, but you’re going to pass on it.

It will take some effort to stay fit and trim over the holidays, but aren’t you worth it?

Your Hartford / Litchfield Ct. And if you asked 100 people what they think of when they hear New England I bet about 90% of them would think of the foliage, the colours, the hills and the fog sitting in the valleys in early morning... It's that change that makes New England what it is. It's that change that takes the solid green hills and turns them into rolling colours. It's all of that which proves, change is good... Yes, change is good!

The changing of the seasons, changing the games on TV from baseball to football and more. And well, a big change that most of New England is talking about right now. The Redsox winning the series... AGAIN...

I'm not a Red Sox "fan" nor Yankee or really anything else. I don't get much enjoyment out of baseball. However it's great to watch and listen to all the bantering about who's going to win this and who's going to win that. Esepcially here at Northwest Hills Dealerships. From the owner being a Red Sox fan to the General Manager being a Yankees fan. I guess that's just another part of New England. The Red Sox - Yankees thing. Not to mention the Patriots. I guess this is sort of a rant going no where. It's all good though, and even while I'm not a huge fan, I think we all owe the Red Sox ANOTHER Congrats!!!! I mean, come on, they won 4 in a row to make it happen. They deserve it!!!

We're not the loud and obnoxious type...

While I was driving down the road today, this random voice started to yell at me. This Loud Obnoxious Random voice started to yell at me. I wanted to yell back! REALLY YELL BACK, but that's not who I am. Yelling accomplishes nothing. Yet this loud obnoxious voice was yelling at me. So...... I turned the channel.

It was one of those car commercials that everyone hates. Really! Can you tell me one person that enjoys the "COME ON DOWN NOW! A NEW CAR FOR ONLY $9.00 PER MONTH! ACT NOW ONLY 700 LEFT!" and then in the softest voice you here all the "truths"... Like the $15,000.00 down it would take to get that $9.00 per month. Or those "push pull or tow your car in and we'll give you at least $5,000.00 for it"... Ever wonder about that one? Or how they can do it? It's simple, because they mark ALL of their cars up $5000.00??? UGGGG! I work in the auto industry and hate all the yelling.

That's why here at Northwest Hills Dealerships we don't yell. Not at you, not at a car on the lot that just backed over my foot, not at our employees. It's just not worth it. Instead, here at Northwest Hills we chose to head in a different direction. The direction that will make every car experience a great one. From the purchase to the service, to the body shop (which hopefully you won't need to use)... We chose to be the honest ones, the ones with integrity. We're not the ones that will tell you about how we won this award or that award, even while we may have, or how we have someone to give manicures while your cars in for service. We won't do that for a couple reasons. The first is simple, the only thing that truly matters is what you need right here and now, and the second is even more apparent, things like manicures, diners or any other part of the circus like atmosphere costs money, and where does that money come from? It comes from raising the cost of service, sales and more. We here at Northwest Hills decide to keep things simple and up front and keep our one goal in mind. The goal to make your experience a great one so that you leave with a smile on your face. Knowing that if you sent your friends in you have nothing to worry about, or your grandmother for that matter.

So know that while we may not be the biggest, the craziest or the one throwing a circus every weekend, we may still be the best around. So stop in, visit our site and let us show you just what we mean.

The dealer you can deal with...

Get your vehicle ready for the colder months...

<img style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand" alt="your ct. chevrolet dealer Ct. An area where fall will leav the hillsides painted with colour, the leaves turn red, orange, yellow and more. The air is crisp, the morning fog will sit in the valleys... It's just a great place to be.

However there comes a time when fall ends and here in New England it tends to do so in an sudden way. The air turns bone chilling, the ice forms on the lakes and ponds not to mention the road! And soon after follows the snow. And that's what this little blog today is all about. You, your car and everyones over all safety in the winter months.

The first thing to think about is the snow. Sure, some of you may not want to think about the snow at all, but no matter what you're driving you could easily end up in a snow bank. And that's where safety plays a huge roll. Picture driving down the snow road at midnight, a deer runs in front of you and there's no where to go, other than that snow bank... You're stuck, it's midnight, there's no one around... What are you going to do? That depends on how prepared you are. So this winter, pack your car with some items that could just save your life. Some Essentials.... Flares, Jumper Cables (at least to help someone whos car wasn't winterized), a small folding shovel, kitty litter to drop down for traction, a flashlight and some blankets. And be sure to keep your cell phone charged to full power, the cold will zap that battery quicker too. And don't forget a few high energy snacks that will stay fresh like granola bars, maybe a bag of M&Ms or something else that may do your body good when you're stuck out there in the cold. Now those are just a few safety items, but you get the point...

Next is a few things you should consider for your vehicle...

First and foremost are your tires, make sure you have plenty of tread and there is no dry rot. Maybe those good tires will have helped you from hitting the deer or the snowbank???

Have your alternator checked, with the cold weather comes higher electrical demands from the heater, the stereo, the heated seats, longer running lights because of the earlier sunset and more!

Be sure to have all the hoses and belts checked. A simple belt could easily snap, especially when it's cold. And the same goes for a rubber hose.

Check all lights, monthly even. The cold weather tends to make headlights burn out faster from the tempature difference...

And your wipers. We all know what it's like to have bad windshield wipers on the car and when you can't see the snow bank you're more likely to hit it... Yes?

And last but not least are your fluids, have them checked before the cold weather sets in as well. The temperature change will make certain fluids thicker and others levels will rise and fall with the temperature change so be sure all your vehicles fluids are where they're suppose to be as well!

And again, those are only a few things to consider. Most of all, be safe. If taking the right steps to ready yourself and your car for the worst of situations you'll all be safe and well. After all, we want you around...

Enjoy!

Visit us at WWW.NWHCARS.COM and you can set a service appointment for anything. And it effects all of us, that's why here at Northwest Hills we have a different goal in mind.

Of course we have to sell vehicles, that's how we'll stay in business. However, we don't want to sell vehicles with those old fashioned tactics. The games, the stress, the lies. Here at Northwest Hills, we believe that we'll sell vehicles to individuals who realize we're doing everything we can to change the business. At least for us...

And you know what, if you're not happy, the owner wants to know about it. Sure other dealers say the same thing, but here, it's true. He really does care. Not only does her care about you, the client but he cares about all of his employees. He's honest, sincere and wants things done right. He's proud to be in the automotive industry and makes his employees feel that same way, why does that matter to you? Simple, his happy employees are going to spread that energy onto you and that's where it all starts. It all starts up top and works on down. Right to the client. You...

So next time you hear of a bad story about how this dealer treated me like this, or that dealer treated me like that, think about us and how it's our goal to make all the stories from Northwest Hills Great ones! Yes, that's right, not just good ones but GREAT ONES! We enjoy hearing our name out on the streets and in the surrounding communities with kind comments. There's nothing better than standing in line and hearing someone behind you or infront of you talking about how simple and stress free their entire purchasing experience was at Northwest Hills. Wouldn't that be great for you as well???

From all of us here at Northwest Hills Dealerships....

Enjoy!

The All New Chevrolet Malibu...

It's coming and it can't be ignored!!!

That's right the all new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu is coming our way and this car is going to be the car of all cars!
